Your child’s life will be filled with colorful hands-on art projects throughout the years. Especially with many different art supplies during those experiences. I’m going to share my 10 tip safe art supplies best for kids under the age of 12 years. The 10 Supplies
1. Finger Paints – usually slippery, tacky feeling and transparent.
2. Modeling Clay – Many types of modeling clay is available on the market.
3. Watercolor Paints – translucent, mixes with water and is very watery. Best used on thick watercolor paper that absorbs lots of water.
4. Acrylic Paints – thick and opaque, can be thinned with just water. Best used on paper, wood and canvases.
5. Crayons – Crayons are typically a child’s first medium. Easy to use and grip, safe and comes non-toxic.
6. Color Pencils – We use lots of color pencils in all our mix media art classes, pencils make very rich marks.
7. Watercolor Pencils – Watercolor pencils are water-soluble and can turn into watercolor when wet, pencils make very rich marks.
8. Beeswax Modeling Clay – Beeswax shapes and molds when warmed up by heat or warm water. Beeswax modeling clay is made from natural beeswax and has a wonderful honey scent.
9. Oil Pastels – Oil Pastels are vibrant and bold in color. Oil pastels glides on paper smoothly.
10. Pastels – have a soft powdery residue similar to chalk. Colors are usually bright vibrant and bold looking.
