Kids Winter Art Projects, Ideas and Inspiration
By Spramani Elaun
Our Winter days are shorter and nights are the longest during this season.
Many families go into a natural rhythm of hibernation with habits and rituals.
In some parts of the county kids are affected by these harsh elements.
This can lead to lots of indoor free time to create art.
In other parts of the World kids rarely get exposed to winter temperatures.
Winters chilly season can inspire creative artworks or craft projects.
Making winter art projects can help kids learn fun science facts about why winter happens!
Winter Inspiration
1. Walk the beach or natural hiking trails near you to observe landscape changes from fall through winter season.
Discuss and have kids observe changes from other seasons. If you discover something exciting, sketch in a nature journal.
2. Visit local mountains and allow children to play and explore this winter terrain.
3. Play outside on wet rainy days, its good for your children to notice their outside environment during cloudy days, rather than from a window.
4. If you grow vegetables, discuss what can be grown and harvested through winter.
Discuss what’s available in local super markets due to season changes.
5. If you in live warmer climates watch wonderful family movies in winter season, or great discovery shows highlighting winter seasons geographic life styles.
6. Read fun books or poems on cultures living year round in these climates. Carefully observe illustration moods and pictures.
7. Draw or craft animals that hibernate, migrate and struggle through winter.
